Dan Schmitt

Dan is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of AAQ and the founder of The Incubation Factory, LLC (“TIF”).  By 1998, AAQ had become the 156th fastest growing company in the United States on Inc. Magazine’s Top 500 list.  In 1997, Dan co-founded Advanced Business Fulfillment (ABF), which applies document processing solutions to the healthcare industry.  In 2003, ABF had become the 23rd fastest growing company on the Inc. 500 list and #1 in Missouri, and it was sold to WebMD for $260 million in that same year.

Dan was instrumental in developing the AAQ and ABF business models and the architect of a methodology for creating new business initiatives.  In 2005, he combined his expertise in business development, administration, finance, and marketing to create The Incubation Factory – a privately funded Commercialization Platform.  Teralogix has served as a business model accelerator for TIF companies. Dan earned a B.A. in Marketing from the University of Northern Iowa in 1989.

Akira Sato
Chief Technology Officer

Akira is an accomplished software engineer and systems analyst with over 15 years experience leading sophisticated software development projects for a variety of industries.  As Chief Technology Officer of Teralogix, Akira’s mission includes directing the company’s product strategy where he is tasked to ensure systems and software are developed to be highly flexible, scalable and secure while meeting all of the desired business and technical objectives. Over the last 10 years he has specialized in designing highly customizable, cloud-based systems using leading edge technology.Akira’s vast experiences are encompassed in industries such as government, financial services, utilities, leisure/travel, healthcare data management and, of course, information technology.

As a senior software engineering consultant on a series of projects for our client WebMD, Akira led the database and software design, development and integration of the Automated Clearing House (ACH) bank transaction functionality into WebMD’s highly transactional and optimal provider payment processing system with a fully customizable client interface. Most recently, Akira has served as a lead engineer supporting work on a contract for the U.S. Department of Energy.

Akira also worked with A.G. Edwards where he was responsible for designing and developing core components of A.G. Edwards’ proprietary broker workstation. He was responsible for developing modules that supported real-time exchange of data between the brokerage transactional systems and real-time financial market data. These systems were highly complex and were responsible for mission critical, day-to-day business operations for retail brokers across the country.

Akira’s interest in technology extends beyond software engineering. Akira began his career in the field of electrical engineering, designing and developing electronics circuit boards. Akira’s diverse knowledge in both software and hardware, in conjunction with his engineering discipline, enable him to be a very effective problem solver in many aspects of computing systems.  Akira graduated from Washington University St. Louis School of Engineering earning both a  B.S. and M.S in Electrical Engineering.  Akira resides in Town and Country, MO with his wife Helen and their two children.

Bill Schmitt Phase 5

Bill Schmitt

Bill graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1987 with a B.A. in Marketing.  He began his professional career as a salesman in the pharmaceutical and medical device arena and in 1992 he pursued his first entrepreneurial endeavor as a Market Development Manager for a start-up medical device company.  The following year he was promoted to Eastern Region Director of Sales.  In 2000, having developed a successful model for company development, Bill launched a second medical device company as a Director of Sales.  His vision for product incubation and demonstrated success in market development led him to a role as a Partner & Vice President of Business Development for Teralogix in 2003.

Jim Craig, PMP
Practice Manager

Jim Craig is a Practice Manager for Teralogix. He has over 20 years experience leading and managing multi-million dollar software, infrastructure, and operational projects and organizations. Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute, Jim has served Teralogix’ clients as a program and project manager, technology executive, and PMO director.

Jim graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Texas A&M College of Engineering and earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Walton School of Business at the University of Arkansas. Jim resides in Wildwood, Missouri with his wife Lynn and their twin daughters.
